Sponsorship And Donation Program

Learning from the Past, Living in the Present, Looking to the Future

As Canadians, we value our traditions and the communities built by our ancestors. From Canada’s inception, farming and agricultural fairs were an important part of the Canadian economic and social fabric.

On September 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2017, The Georgetown Agricultural Society will be hosting the 171th Georgetown Fall Fair. Our mandate is to promote agriculture and provide educational programs to support farming in our area. This year’s fair celebrates the Canadian story with agricultural displays, farm animal exhibits, homecraft competitions, displays of antique and modern farming equipment and activities that reflect our appreciation of the past.

The Georgetown Fall Fair is undertaken by an experienced, dedicated group of volunteers who put countless hours into the organization and operation of this three day event.  Like our forefathers, our major setbacks relate to the weather. A few years of rainy days have hurt our gate receipts.

We are aware that grants are available from the Federal government’s Department of Canadian Heritage’s “Canada 150 Fund” to recognize the sesquicentennial relating to the one-hundred-and-fiftieth anniversary of our Country.  However, the application form requires, “….the applicant to contribute a minimum of 25% of the total project cost (cash and/or kind) to be funded as a Canada 150 Signature Initiative.”  This condition cannot be met since The Georgetown Agricultural Society has very limited cash resources and accordingly, we are not able to apply for a grant.

We do rely on sponsor donations and agricultural grants to be a stable base in funding this event. It is through generous sponsors’ contributions, in past years, that the fair has been able to continue. We sincerely hope that you will be able to support the Georgetown Fair in 2017. The enclosed information sheets outline our sponsorship program. We do value our sponsors and recognize their distinctive contributions. When determining the amount of your financial support as a sponsor might you consider financial assistance to allow us to plan recognition of Canada’s 150th   year in some manner?

Please know that you will be helping to provide agricultural awareness opportunities and in the process bringing joy to many little faces.

See you at the fair!

Sincerely,

Mona Milne Treasurer 907-877-4207                        Elizabeth Taylor Homecrafts 905-877-4726

2017 Sponsorship and Donation Program Form

The Georgetown Fall Fair is dependent entirely on the work of our dedicated volunteers. The volunteer’s activities throughout the year include planning and raising funds to operate the fair.  Due to ever-increasing operating costs, we are looking to sponsors and donations to assistance.

The society is thankful for the generous support it has received in the past. Sponsorships and donations in any amount have always been greatly appreciated. This is how we show our appreciation to our much needed sponsors.
